Evangelism Beyond Kleinwood
Jesus commanded His disciples,
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” - Matthew 28:19-20 ESV
We see Christians in the New Testament going abroad to preach the word as commanded by Jesus (Acts 8:4 and 1 Thessalonians 1:8). And we see examples of the early church supporting men in the preaching of the Gospel (Acts 11:22 and Philippians 1:3-5 ).
We at Kleinwood are truly blessed to have the ability to fulfill this important work of the church by supporting evangelists in many locations around the world. Besides the four evangelists who work here at the Kleinwood congregation we are able to support many men around the world - 22 in the US, 1 in Canada, 2 in Latin America, 5 in Europe, 2 in the Philippines, and 37 in Africa.
All of us should look for opportunities to encourage those who preach the gospel and we should always remember them in our regular personal prayers and when we assemble to worship the Lord. Hopefully we will follow the pattern of the Philippians and those we support can truly say of us that which Paul told our brothers and sisters in Philippi.
“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” - Philippians 1:3-11 ESV
